BANGALORE: The National Association for the Blind is hosting 115 kids from the districts of Bangalore Urban and rural, Hassan, Chamrajnagar, Gulbarga, Chikballapur and Mysore from October 19 to the October 23 as apart of an exchange programme.The children are aged between 5 and 15 years and they have a series of activities planned for the children.Among the various activities, the children will also get an opportunity to interact with other kids like them who go to normal schools in the city. The children will also be taught various forms of art and craft. Promoting, ‘Health is wealth’, the children will also have a complete medical-check up along with the co-operation of various hospitals in Bangalore.The National Association of the Blind (NAB) was established in 1977 with the purpose of working for the people who are in need of the much help. Also, their strategy of sending children to normal schools rather than blind schools has helped to restore a sense of help in these students, along with  inculcating important values.The Bala Mela was inaugurated by Jahanzeb Akthar, director (training), from the Direct Taxes Regional Training Centre. Also on the charts is a clay modelling class and collage  making.Furthermore, a walkathon will be held from the NAB building to the Domlur Bus Terminal. The intention of the same has been to create awareness in the society on the need of education in the lives of the visually impaired. It is being flagged off by BNS Reddy, director general of police and joint commissioner of police, city armed reserve.
