New Delhi: After Sonam Kapoor flaunted her sensuous dance moves during Rohit Bal's show at the recently-concluded India Bridal Fashion Week, the guests were expecting her to do something different and playful at the ongoing PCJ Delhi Couture Week too.
As reports had suggested, the actress was supposed to walk the ramp for designer Masaba Gupta's Satya Paul couture collection on day three of the PCJ Delhi Couture week. But her absence, which left her fans a tad displeased, made way for Anil and Arjun Kapoor.
The uncle-nephew duo, who opted for black sherwani and tastefully teamed it with white churidar, took to the runway to make up for Sonam's absence and infused the much-needed Bollywood flavour to the show.
"If Arjun and I are here that's just because of my daughter Sonam. She was supposed to attend the event, but due to some reason she could not make it. However, we both are extremely happy to know we can be the back-up plan for her," said Anil Kapoor. The actor walked the ramp sporting an outfit by Indian designer Raghavendra Rathore during the Aamby Valley India Bridal Fashion Week last month.
As Arjun told us, he depends a lot on Sonam when it comes to attending such fashion events. "When Anil uncle told me, 'Hum Delhi ke fashion show mei chal rahein hain', my instant reply was 'Chalo. Chalke aatey hain'.It feel great to walk the ramp. And the experience becomes memorable when the guests cheer and you get a thunderous applause. Honestly, I have begun to depend a lot on Sonam for such events. I will now wait for such interesting offers to come my way. Coming back to Delhi is always special," he said.
The trip to Delhi also helped Arjun spend quality time with Anil. "It is a fact that I got to spend much time with Anil uncle today, courtesy this show, than I have in the last couple of months. Did you see how people were cheering for him? He is a superstar, but he downplays his stardom. I'm a big fan of his. He has a great style sense. The fact that I'm stuttering even as I speak about him, speaks a lot about his stardom and impact. It is a surreal moment for me to share the stage with him," he said.
