New Delhi: Known to be active on social networking site Twitter and often using the platform to voice his opinion, Anurag Kashyap surprised many of his followers by announcing that he is deleting his account.
Anurag tweeted on 23 September, "Bye bye twitter.. Enough feeding the wannabe journals..(sic)." A few days back, the director had expressed anger over Film Federation Of India for not selecting 'The Lunchbox' as India's official entry for Oscars. Anurag is a co-producer of the film which has been earning a lot of critical acclaim and was a favourite amongst many for this year's entry for Oscars.
A Gujarati film called 'The Good Road' was selected by the federation ultimately. Anurag had tweeted, "Feeling very, very disappointed, can't comment on the film I have not seen, but it better make it to final five... I hope and pray I am wrong and it actually is a film that knocks the socks off everyone (sic)"
Kashyap had further tweeted, ""i dont know who the federation is.but it goes to show, why we completely lack the understanding to make films that can travel across borders.(sic)"
