Midnapore (West Bengal): In a large haul, security forces ON Saturday recovered 120 landmines besides firearms and other weapons in Maoist-infested Lalgarh area of West Midnapore district.

Besides 120 directional landmines, 28 firearms, 61 sharp weapons, detonators, wires, and large quantity of bomb-making material were seized during the raid at a house in Jamda locality, Superintendent of Police Manoj Verma said.

Though police had a tip off about five persons, having Maoist links, holed up in the house, they could not be apprehended.

Maoist literature and handwritten posters were also found in the rooms of the house.
