THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Joint Assembly Committee, headed by V D Satheesan which is probing into the allegations against Opposition Leader V S Achuthanandan’s son V A Arunkumar, took statements from Information Technology Secretary T Balakrishnan here on Tuesday. Balakrishnan told the committee that Arunkumar was appointed as director of ICT Academy after violating Central rules. He said that the Academy was registered as a charitable society under IHRD with the Chief Minister as the chairman and Arunkumar as the director. The previous LDF Government had appointed Arunkumar as the ICT Academy director prior to the 2011 Assembly elections. The committee headed by V D Satheesan MLA, which is probing the four allegations levelled against Arun Kumar by P C Vishnunath in the Assembly will also record the statements from chuthanandan and Vishnunath in the coming days.
