KOCHI: The Kerala High Court on Friday dismissed the pleas of Thadiyantavida Nazeer and Shafas - accused in the Kozhikode twin blasts case- requesting to suspend their sentence and grant them bail.A Division Bench comprising Justice V Ramkumar and Justice P Q Barkath Ali passed the order while considering an appeal filed by Nazeer and Shafas against the conviction and sentence order by the Ernakulam NIA Special court. However, the High Court admitted the appeal filed by the accused and issued notice to the NIA. The appellants contented that the court has failed to apply the principles of the law evolved by the Supreme Court. The NIA court had earlier awarded triple life term to Thadiyantavide Nazeer and double life term to Shafaz.
