BJP MLC withdraws protest following CMs assurance

BJP MLC G Madhusudan, who had threatened to stage a silent protest, alleging that the government has failed to take action against Deputy Commissioner P S Vastrad for issuing a controversial land conversion order, withdrew it following an assurance from Chief Minister Jagadish Shettar that he would take action.

The MLC, who arrived at the protest venue on Monday morning, announced that he has withdrawn the protest.  “I received a phone call from Chief Minister Jagadish Shettar last night.

After taking all details on the issue, he assured me of looking into it and said he would take appropriate action. Also my office received a fax message about the same from the Chief Minister’s office,” he said.

Meanwhile, Srikantadatta Narasimharaja Wadiyar Abhimanigala Balaga maintained that the BJP MLC, who allegedly runs a resort in Bandipur by encroaching on forest land, has no moral right to speak about Wadiyar or the Deputy Commissioner.  In a fresh allegation, they said Madhusudhan, who allegedly encroached upon a public lane beside his house, is harassing the neighbours.

“Making allegations on Wadiyar without checking the facts, agreements signed between the Royal Family and the government in 1950 and court orders, suggest that he is doing so due to some personal enmity,” they added.
