BMC joins PM Modi's Swachh Bharat campaign, says will cancel licenses of shops found littering
The country's richest civic body the BMC is now doing its bit to contribute to the Swachch Baharat Abhiyan making it mandatory for such dustbins outside eateries and several other establishments in Mumbai.

Mumbai: The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation has joined Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Swachh Bharat campaign. The BMC said that it will cancel the licenses of shops and restaurants that are found littering.

The country's richest civic body the BMC is now doing its bit to contribute to the Swachch Baharat Abhiyan making it mandatory for such dustbins outside eateries and several other establishments in Mumbai.

Shopkeepers showed much enthusiasm regarding the BMC's new directive. "They should implement this. It is important for the surroundings to be clean. Waste should be disposed in the dustbins", said one shopkeeper.
