Body of infant found in train

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The body of an infant, suspected to be barely two days old, was found abandoned in the bathroom in a sleeper class coach of the Hyderabad-Thiruvananthapuram Sabari Express train here on Friday. The body of the infant boy was found inside the bathroom of sleeper class coach S-5 by a passenger when the train reached Murukkumpuzha. The passenger, who was mute, alerted the other passengers, who, in turn, immediately pulled the alarm chain and stopped the train. As it is was difficult for the ambulance to reach the train at Murukkumpuzha, the train was taken to Kazhakkoottam railway station, from where the body was taken to the Medical College Hospital in the ambulance. A post-mortem would be conducted on the body on Saturday, said Railway Police sources.  The Railway police have registered a case and started inquiry.
