Bones or not, swami’s pills still sell
Ramdev's followers have rubbished the allegations of medicines containing animal bones and powdered human skulls.

New Delhi: Swami Ramdev's medicines may be under the microscope but his supporters are not complaining.

In fact they simply rubbish the allegations of the swami's medicines containing animal bones and powdered human skulls.

Even though all the centres that sell the medicines made by the swami's trust — Divya Yog Mandir Trust in Haridwar — were shut for the day in protest against CPI(M) leader Brinda Karat's remarks, his followers turned up to get their regular dose of medicine.

They were clinging to their faith with prescriptions in their hands.

"I take medicines from here for myself and my family. I have a prescription and I am happy with the results," said a follower, Rajesh Kumar.

Another believer, Babu Singh added that he had been suffering from frequent bouts of unconsciousness.

"I came here and have been on medicine for a month now and the bouts have all but disappeared and I feel perfectly fine now," he said.

While large groups of Ramdev followers marched to the CPI (M) office agitating against the party's anti-Ramdev stance, the Divya Yog supervisors confirmed there had been no drop in the sale of medicines.

Model Town medicine centre incharge, Amita Gupta said, "There has been no drop in the sales. If anything the sales have gone up."

It's a matter of faith. Nothing seems to affect Baba Ramdev's disciples since the controversy over his medicines broke out.

They say they will be back here yet again to find themselves a cure.

What's your reaction?
