KOCHI: The Coconut Development Board would send a team of experts to Trinidad and Tobago to initiate the exchange of knowledge and technology between the two countries. The programme, as part of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed by the Board and the Caribbean nation the other day, would facilitate transfer of our knowledge and technologies including production and protection, post-harvest management and primary processing, production of value-added products from coconut and mechanised palm climbing, said an official of the Coconut Development Board.According to Pranesh Maharaj, Chairman of  St Patrick Coconut Growers Co-operative Society, Trinidad and Tobago has huge potential in terms of coconut development.  “The technology in coconut farming is at par with the highest standards in the international arena. We expect huge growth in this sector,” he said.
