The Centre had sent a study team to invoke the silent features of the Sakala scheme in its proposed Central legislation.
Sakala was launched recently under Karnataka Guarantee of Services Act to deliver government services to citizens within a stipulated time.
In a press note issued here by the state government, it was stated that several states, including Odisha and the neighbouring country Bangladesh had sent representatives to study the successful implementation of the Act.
The release stated that ever since the launch of the Sakala scheme in the state there was a perceptive improvement in the delivery of state services. The scheme had also helped to develop a close bond between the people and government.
Over 1 crore applications have been received since its launch. Various departments received 23 lakh petitions in August. Highest number of applications were received by Revenue and Transport departments.
Other departments, including Food and Civil Supplies and Health and Family welfare, are also gaining ground in terms of receipts and disposal of applications.
Continuous monitoring on the implementation of the Sakala scheme had also resulted in decreasing the number of rejections which has is now six per cent as compared to the 7.42 per cent in the previous months.
“As many as 85 help desks are functioning for the effective implementation of the scheme,” the release said. The state is now planning to bring more services under Right to Service Act.
