Rating: 3.5 out of 5

For those who have felt filmmaker R.Chandru follows the same kind of storylines and narration, his new film 'Charminar' would come as a pleasant surprise!

Though it has a rural backdrop like in his previous films, the beauty of 'Charminar' lies in the way the director has introduced fresh elements into the narration and fantastic dialogues. Everything looks completely natural.

You may feel that the movie is slow in pace, but it can be easily forgotten owing to the sequences, which leaves a heavy emotional impact on the audience.

Chandru has narrated the story in flashback, but still has been able to engage the audience through heartwarming dialogues and technical strength. He has used the resources to the best of his abilities - whether it is his cameraman K.S. Chandrashekhar or new music director Hari creating good compositions.

The film has some high voltage performances from all the artists.

It stresses upon the importance of parents, friends, teachers and a lover, who form the four 'minars' (pillars) of a successful person's life.

The story starts with Mohan, a CEO of an Amercian software firm, who is on his way back to his village to meet his friends and be part of an old students' meet. While returning to his hometown, Mohan recalls his close bond to the friends and his everlasting love towards Radhe, who got closer to him in his journey towards achieving a bigger goal.

For Mohan, who was a dullard in school days, Radhe is a real inspiration. She encouraged him to study and have an aim in his life. However, Radhe was nowhere to be seen when Mohan made it big in life.

He hopes to meet Radhe at the friends meet, but is disappointed when she does not make it. He goes to her house in the village to find her handicapped because of an accident. The accident also took her mother's life away. Mohan accepts her and decides to start a new life with her.

Nenapirali Prem delivers a really good performance and 'Charminar' may well be considered his best film. He has donned different garbs in the film - a college student, a person who has completed a professional course with distinction, and as a CEO of a company.

Meghana is a real surprise in the film as she has given a captivating performance. She emotes well through her eyes. Murduala has a smaller role, but impresses with her glamour quotient. All the other artists have done their best.

'Radhey radhey' is the best pick among all the songs composed by Hari.

'Charminar' has a huge emotional appeal and will attract the family audience and youngsters.
