Chinese eatery themed on a toilet

Beijing: While even the thought of eating in the loo is enough to make people shudder with disgust, a new restaurant themed on toilet utilities that opened in Shenzhen, China recently has won the favour of some novelty-seeking consumers.

Although some found the whole idea sickening, young people seemingly enjoyed dining with the surroundings of a toilet.

In the restaurant, toilet bowls are used as seats, bathtubs are used as bowls and some dishes are served that are shaped like manure.

The concept for such a restaurant was introduced last year.

"Customers are mainly young people. Some are willing to be on a waiting list for the toilet-bowl seats," China Daily quoted the manager, as saying.

The restaurant has four outlets in Shenzhen, and there are allied outlets in Chengdu and Wuhan.
