THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The teaching of literary texts in classrooms is undergoing a sea-change owing to accelerated research in the field around the globe, and the city’s teaching community is not alien to the movements. Gleena Johny, an English teacher of Christ Nagar International School, has been selected for an 11-day seminar on British Literature in Norwich, UK from August 15-26. The seminar, organised by the British Council, under the BRITLIT course, is part of a collaborative project which aims to develop comprehensive resource kits for teachers worldwide. The classroom- ready material will be made available in a downloadable form. The British Council joins hands with the Association of Portuguese Teachers of English (APPI) for the project. Apart from the seminar, Gleena will also take part in an extended project of six-month duration. She is one among the three teachers who have been selected for the programme from India.
