BANGALORE: One might think that putting together an entire lifetime’s experiences in a single book is a difficult task, whereas Additional Chief Secretary, Government of Karnataka K Jairaj seems to have managed to do it with ease. Addressing the press about his book ‘Jaitra Yatre’, where he brings about his administrative experiences, he said, “I have dedicated this book to my parents, Dr A Padma Rao and K Ranganath. This has been a good journey and I have tried to add in all the core points of my administrative experiences in this book.” Answering many questions about his tenure and his most memorable stint, he said, “My most memorable time was as the Deputy Commissioner of Tumkur.” However, he warded off questions related to his entry into politics. Further adding that while many countries did not stick with the civil services policy after gaining independence from the Britishers, India did a good thing by retaining it. “The civil services policy has witnessed a visible change in the last 30 years. It is a unifying factor and it is a good thing that India follows this policy,” he said. He also commented on the sad state of the public installations. “It is sad to see the state in which the public library and the state museum are in currently.” he said. He further said that he is waiting anxiously for the launch of his book.
