Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s government has decided to withhold the salaries of all officers and employees for the month of August, who will not provide details of their movable and immovable properties by August 31.
Chief Secretary Manoj Singh has written letters to all Additional Chief Secretaries, Principal Secretaries and Heads of Departments in this regard. The order issued on Tuesday states that only those who give details of properties by August 31 will be paid salaries.
Several IAS, IPS, PPS, PCS officers and employees have not yet declared their assets. This strict order by the Yogi Adityanath government to enforce the deadline has created a stir among bureaucratic circles.
The Uttar Pradesh government has made it mandatory for all officers and employees to give online details of movable and immovable properties. The Personnel Department has issued an order in this regard. According to this order, those who do not furnish details will not be promoted. In the first order, the deadline was fixed as June 30. It was subsequently extended to August 31.
However, according to latest information as per the Manav Sampada Portal, only about 26 per cent of the officers and employees in the Uttar Pradesh government have provided information about their property so far.
The Chief Secretary stated in his order that after reviewing the Manav Sampada Portal, it has become clear that despite clear orders, the officers and employees have not given information about their property. The order states that employees have provided their details till 2023, whereas it has been mandated to provide property details till December 31, 2024.
Principal Secretary of Personnel Department M Devraj said that this order has been issued by the Chief Secretary and has been forwarded to all the Additional Chief Secretaries, Principal Secretaries, Secretaries as well as heads of departments and office heads.
There are about 18 lakh government employees in Uttar Pradesh among whom only 26 per cent have provided details of their property online. Government sources have said that since the system of providing property details on the Manav Sampada portal has been created for the first time, the last date has been fixed on August 31.
