Couple bags first two positions in PSC exam

TRIPUNITHURA : It came as a belated wedding gift to Ratheesh and Neethu who got married six months ago.And, the sender of the gift is none other than Kerala Public Service Commission, promising them a government job as they have secured first and second rank in the Ernakulam District list for Lower Division Clerk.The first reaction of Ratheesh, who is from the Kallarakal house, was sheer happiness and gratitude to the God for the success.“I am so happy with the result and my wife’s second rank has added more sweetness to this achievement,” he said.It may be quite a coincidence that the couple won the first two ranks in the PSC examination, however, the curious fact is that it was the PSC exam held in 2010 that united them in life.“Two years back, it was the same PSC that brought us together when we were appointed as KSRTC bus conductors at Aluva depot.At that time we use to meet each other.Later, I got another job with a private agency and I left the job,” he added.The second rank holder Neethu too shared her happiness.“Once he left the job with KSRTC, we rarely could see each other.But one day, I was astonished to see his parents coming up with a marriage proposal to my home.Ratheesh too was not aware of the proposal.After the initial embarrassment, we readily agreed for the marriage.This examination was written before the marriage,“ she said.At present, Ratheesh is working as an assistant in Kalady Sanskrit University and Neethu is working as female warden in the office of Scheduled Caste Welfare Department in Munnar.They also have something to share with the PSC aspirants in the district.“A lot of knowledge is not required for the PSC exam but only a wide knowledge of everything is important for the examination.Combined study with the friends will be more effective,” they added.
