Bharti had prayed for the court to order in-camera proceedings and prohibit the media from publishing her photos.

New Delhi: A Delhi court will decide on November 20 on whether to prohibit the media from covering the proceedings for recording the deposition of Bharti Yadav, a key witness in the Nitish Katara murder case and sister of main accused Vikas Yadav.

Earlier, Bharti through her counsel had prayed for the court to order in-camera proceedings and prohibit the media from taking and publishing her photographs.

Additional Sessions Judge Ravinder Kaur was also informed, by the Senior Public Prosecutor B S Joon, of the Delhi High Court order passed on Tuesday in the case of turning down her request to be issued a passport before her arrival while restraining the authorities from arresting her.

The High Court had also directed that she be issued emergency travel documents to facilitate her travel to India and a fresh passport after she deposes in the case.

On the last date of hearing, through her counsel S C Bhuttan, she had also put a condition that she should be issued a regular passport so that she can continue her studies in United Kingdom.

The court had kept in the abeyance proclamation notice issued against the daughter of UP politician D P Yadav. Bharti's brother and cousin Vikas and Vishal are accused of kidnapping and murdering Nitish, with whom she allegedly had an intimate relationship.

While Vikas and another accused Sukhdev Pehlwan is in jail, Vishal has been granted bail by the Delhi High Court which has been challenged in the Supreme Court.

Katara was allegedly kidnapped and murdered on the night of February 16-17, 2002 from Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, where he had gone to attend a marriage party.
