PUDUCHERRY: CPI state secretary R Viswanathan on Wednesday sought the details of the meeting between the Congress leaders and home minister P Chidambaram, in which the issue of retrenchment of 5,600 employees was claimed to have been taken up with him.Addressing reporters, he said the details of what transpired in the meeting and the response of the home minister should be revealed by the Pradesh Congress leadership. It may be recalled that Union Minister V Narayanasamy had revealed that, along with opposition leader V Vaithilingam, PCC chief  AV Subramanian and Rajya Sabha MP Kannan, he had met Chidambaram and briefed him about the retrenchment of daily-rated employees appointed by the previous government.Former minister Viswanathan said the employees were appointed by the previous Congress regime by not following the norms for selection. He added that it was even worse when the AINRC retrenched the employees and appointed nearly 1000 workers, who were allegedly close to that party. The CPI leader said a nine-member delegation, including national council member Na Ra Kalainathan would participate in the 21st CPI Party Congress in Patna.
