This comes two days after one of its flight to Kochi was delayed by three hours after pilot refused to accept a "dirty" emergency oxygen mask in the cabin and insisted for a fresh one.

New Delhi: A Chicago-bound Air India flight, with 270 passengers onboard, from IGI airport in New Delhi was delayed by a massive 15 hours due to the crew shortage, causing inconvenience to the fliers.

This comes two days after one of its flight to Kochi was delayed by three hours after pilot refused to accept a "dirty" emergency oxygen mask in the cabin and insisted for a fresh one.

The flight AI-127, which was to depart for Chicago in the US at 2.20 am this morning could take off for its destination at around 1715 hours, after an inordinate delay of 15 hours, airline sources said.

When contacted, Air India confirmed that the flight missed the scheduled take off time due to non-availability of crew. "The flight, however, finally departed at 1715 hours with 270 passengers onboard after fresh set of crew was deployed to operate it," an the official said.
