Crorepati engineer Yadav Singh sent to 6 days PC in graft case
Yadav Singh 'abused' his official position in awarding contracts and causing wrongful loss to the government exchequer.

New Delhi: Suspended Uttar Pradesh chief engineer Yadav Singh - who was arrested on Wednesday – has been remanded to police custody till February 10 on Thursday by a CBI court.

Singh was arrested in a disproportionate assets case. He is accused of amassing assets worth Rs 9,00 crore while he was in office. He is allegedly accused of abusing his official position in awarding contracts and causing wrongful loss to the government exchequer.

"Diamonds worth Rs 100 crore, Rs 10 crore cash and two kilograms of gold were recovered from his home during raids in 2015. Singh is said to be close to the Bahujan Samaj Party," sources said.

CBI sources said Yadav is not cooperating in their investigation.
