As part of the corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative of the Technopark-based Alamy Images India Pvt Ltd, an eye camp was conducted at Govt UP School, Kaniyapuram, on Tuesday.
The camp was organised by ‘Clicks’, the socio-cultural club at Alamy Images, in association with Aravind Eye Hospital. Around 1,000 students participated in the eye camp. Students with eye problems were given sponsorship for spectacles and further eye treatment.
In a press release, Prasanna Sundararajan, COO of the company said, “In the past, we have distributed solar lanterns to various needy villages in the outskirts of Thiruvanathapuram. After speaking to persons in the immediate society, we feel that eye health among children is one of the crucial areas that needs addressing. With this initiative of the eye camp, we are one step closer to our campaign - ‘Project Eye.’”
