For the lovers of carnatic music, bharatanatyam and kathak art forms, Society Dharani as part of their fourth quarterly programme of the year is organising an array of programmes. One of the main highlight of the event will be carnatic kacheri by Sreevalsan Menon on September 21 at 6.30 pm. The artist was initiated to the world of music at the age of five under the able tutelage of Rajalakshmi Krishnan. He has also performed many kacheris with Neyyattinkara Vasudevan. His kacheri will see Edappally Ajith on violin, Balakrishnan Kammath on mridangam and Vazhapilly Krishnakumar on ghadam.
The curtain raiser for Dharani Kalotsav 2012 will also be held on the following day. It will open with the kathak recital by Rohini Prabhath. The artist is the disciple of Nirupama Rajendra of Abhinava Dance Company, Bangalore. Rohini who began her training in bharatanatyam, later shifted her focus to kathak. There will also be a bharatanatyam recital by P N Vikas who is an alumni of Kalakshetra College of Fine Arts (Chennai). Vikas, a post graduate in bharatanatyam was also awarded the best student from the Kalakshetra. He has been part of many cultural events in India, Srilanka, USA, UK and Portugal.
The kathak recital of Rohini Prabhath will be performed on September 22 at 6.30 pm and will be followed by the bharatanatyam recital of Vikas at 7.45 pm. Both days events are staged in Kerala Fine Arts Hall.
