Cyclone warning to coastal AP

VISAKHAPATNAM: A depression formed about 900 km in the sea off the Tamil Nadu coast is likely to develop into a cyclonic storm in the next 24 hours and strike south coastal AP including Visakhapatnam. The storm will bring rains at most places and heavy rains, accompanied by winds around 4050 kmph, in north coastal Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and south coastal AP from Tuesday. Authorities of the Cyclone Warning Centre said the depression centered about 900 km southeast off the Chennai coast and would move north and cross the northern Tamil Nadu and southern AP coast between Cuddalore and Nellore. Officials issued a warning to fishermen and advised them against venturing into the sea.
