Delhi Police officer sent to 14 days judicial custody for allegedly raping woman at gunpoint
The accused policeman reportedly raped the woman at gunpoint on Thursday and was also allegedly under the influence of alcohol.

New Delhi: An Assistant Sub-Inspector of Delhi police has been arrested for allegedly raping his friend's domestic help, police said on Saturday.

"A police officer has indulged in a crime..we have taken strict action. We are determined to act on our own and won't wait for departmental enquiry. He is going to be dismissed," said Delhi Police Commissioner BS Bassi

Meanwhile, Home Minister Rajnath Singh has said that proper action will be taken in the case.

ASI Javeer Singh who was posted at Punjabi Bagh police station in West Delhi, went to his friend's place on Thursday night and allegedly raped his maid. The accused policeman reportedly raped the woman at gunpoint on and was also allegedly under the influence of alcohol.

The woman approached the police on Friday following which she was sent for medical examination which confirmed rape, a police official said. An FIR has been registered against the accused at Rani Bagh police station. The cop was arrested and produced before the court on Friday which remanded him to 14-days judicial custody.

Reports add that the incident was captured in CCTV cameras and a case has been registered against the accused. The police is also trying to verify the CCTV footage.
