New Delhi: The Delhi police's anti-terror unit has filed an FIR against 'unknown persons' in connection with Islamic State. The anti-terror unit had gathered intelligence on the sympathisers which pointed that they were engaged in activities for radicalisation of gullible youth.

The FIR does not name any suspect and is based on intelligence inputs about a possible terror strike being planned by those who have links with ISIS. This is the first FIR registered about the possibility of an ISIS attack in India.

At least twelve Indian youth were said to have gone to Iraq and Syria to fight for the Islamic State.

Earlier, four persons were detained in Kerala by the National Intelligence Agency (NIA) on Tuesday. They were deported by the United Arab Emirates government for allegedly being Islamic State sympathisers.
