BANGALORE: The Karnataka Chapter of the Association of Radiation Oncologists of India (AROI) felicitated Prof A M Nisar Syed for his valuable contribution to the field of Radiation Oncology. Prof Nisar has dedicated the past 40 years of his life to the betterment of Radiation Oncology.Dr Umapathy Panyala, COO, Apollo Hospitals Bangalore said, “The entire Apollo Hospital family congratulates Prof Syed for his extensive contribution towards the development of Radiation Oncology in the country. He is the founder of the American Brachytherapy Society (formerly the American Endocurietherapy Society), and has served as secretary, programme chair, lecturer and president. He is the founding editor of ‘Journal of Brachytherapy International’. He has more than 50 scientific publications, and has given more than 100 formal presentations related to scientific and research data. Throughout his career he has devoted much of his time to the training of physicians from around the world.
