Allegations have surfaced against Manish Jaiswal, the principal of the Government GNM Training Institute in Bihar’s Bettiah, involving alcohol consumption and inappropriate behaviour. A photo has emerged showing Jaiswal drinking alcohol and receiving a massage in his office. GNM students, distressed by the principal’s actions, have sent a letter with these images to the Chief Minister and Health Minister, questioning the lack of action despite their previous complaints.
The students highlighted that the principal’s behaviour contradicts the state’s prohibition stance, urging the Chief Minister to address their concerns. They also noted that although the Bettiah Civil Surgeon was instructed to investigate, no follow-up actions had been taken.
In response, Jaiswal claimed that the allegations are part of a conspiracy by his opponents and that the photos have been edited to defame him. He asserted that the accusations were unfounded.
The Civil Surgeon of Bettiah had initially been ordered by Dr Sunil Kumar Jha, Director General of Nursing, to conduct a confidential investigation. Despite confirming the principal’s misconduct, no corrective measures were implemented, and the controversial images continued to circulate publicly.
