EC alters schedule for council poll

BANGALORE: The Election Commission has rescheduled the by-election to the Karnataka legislative council vacated by ruling Bharaiya Janata Party member N Shankarappa to December 22.As per the earlier schedule, the by-election was supposed to be held on December 12. The change in schedule was done in order to facilitate the winner of the on-going Bellary bye-election to participate in the election.As per laws, no changes in electoral college can be made after the last date of filing nominations.
