THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chinmaya Vidyalaya, Naruvamoodu, conducted a residential multi-dimensional personality development programme, ‘Vajra-2012’, for students of various schools in the city. The five-day programme was inaugurated by Swami Vivanantha. Col R G Nair, director; P Sekharankutty, vice-president; and Raj Kumar, joint secretary, Chinmaya Mission; and Suresh Mohan spoke. Around 130 students of the 14-20 age group participated in Vajra. The participants said that the programme was a great experience for them. It also helped them to mingle with the students of other schools and share experiences.According to Prerana Rajkumar, a 12th standard student of Kendriya Vidyalaya, Pattom, the programme was well-organised and  would always be remembered by the participants. The students had to wake up early in the morning to participate in meditation, which empowered and energised them. The students were split into four groups, Kaveri, Pamba, Periyar and Narmada. The programmes included ‘bhajan’, songs, games and cultural activities."Swami Namitha Chaithanya gave an inspiring talk related to the things which are happening around us and the spiritual world. After each day’s programme, the students were eagerly looking forward to the activities next day,’’ Prerana said.Nandini J, another participant, said that the students were taken to another world in the meditation hall."Whatever we heard in the hall was new to us,’’ she said.
