BANGALORE: In an effort to recognise and mentor student entrepreneurs, Tata First Dot regional workshop was held at Indian Institute of Management here on Saturday.Addressing the 43 entrepreneur students participating in the workshop, chief operating officer-eyewear division, Titan Industries, S Ravi Kant said: “Entrepreneurship is a pre-requisite to any country’s economic growth. It is our responsibility to motivate budding entrepreneurs and their ideas. The workshop aims at helping students get a better understanding of what investors look for in a successful start-up.” Shortlisted participants will get a chance to contest in a voting-based student venture competition. Winners of the competition will then be felicitated in an award ceremony at the Tata First Dot Conference to be held in Chennai in January, 2012.This programme is a part of a series of workshops conducted across 10 cities: Pune, Kolkata, Chennai, Delhi, Jaipur, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Coimbatore, Indore and Mumbai. It is designed specifically to help student entrepreneurs refine their business models.
