New Delhi: Directors may be churning out family flicks by a dozen every year, but talking of favourites, you'd probably opt for an old classic.
No wonder, Steven Spielberg's ET: The Extra-Terrestrial has been voted as the best family film of all time.
The 1982 sci-fi classic, about an alien trying to find his way home, has bagged the top slot in a poll conducted by tttChannel 4.
Second place was snatched by animated comedy Shrek, and Disney’s classic Mary Poppins stood at the 4th spot.
Johnny Depp’s Pirates Of The Caribbean came fourth in the survey, followed by Toy Story, The Lion King and Back To The Future.
The original, non-Johnny Depp Willy Wonka And The Chocolate Factory took the eighth spot, Star Wars the ninth and The Wizard Of Oz was pegged at the tenth position.
The results of the poll were chosen by a public vote from a list of titles posted on Channel 4’s website.
