Mumbai: Having portrayed serious roles in the past, the sensuous actress will be giving the Bollywood babes a run for their money.
In the era of ‘Sheila’ and ‘Munni’, where flaunting the hot body creates nationwide debates on who is better, one wonders when this battle would come to an end, or would you really want it to end? But when the name is Chitrangada Singh, there is no battle because she is in a league of her own.
Having done serious and path breaking roles in films like Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi and Sorry Bhai, the pretty lass is all set to let her hair down in a sizzling item number. Confirming the latest development she says, "Yes, I am doing an item number very soon in Desi Boyz which stars Akshay Kumar and John Abraham. It is something that I have never attempted before."
The promos of her latest film, Yeh Saali Zindagi, are already out in the theaters and her bold scenes have attracted lot of eye balls. "Yes, there are bold scenes in the film but they are shot in an aesthetic manner," she explains.
Chitrangada couldn’t hide her excitement of working with Irrfan Khan. She says, "I was wondering when I could work with him before this film happened. He is such an effortless actor."
When asked if it's a deliberate attempt to only focus on serious roles she quips, "No, I would love to dance around trees and do item numbers." Any qualms of being called as the new Sheila or Munni, she ends, "I wouldn’t like to be addressed as Sheila or Munni but if I have to pick one it would definitely be Munni."
