TIRUCHY: Several days after she was reported missing, the daughter of a former Sri Lankan minister, who was studying in a college here, was traced on Wednesday.A first-year UG student, C Sowmya Dhanusha (20), the daughter of ex-Lankan minister Chellasamy and former MP Velammal, was reported missing on February 29.The information was passed on to Sowmya’s parents, who arrived here on April 4 and subsequently lodged a complaint with the police.Sowmya was then traced to Bangalore, from where she was brought to Tiruchy on Wednesday by a special team along with a youth.During inquiry, Sowmya identified the youth as Anushkar (20), son of Balasubramanian, her neighbour in Lanka, who was involved in the used car business and said that she was involved in a relationship with him.After securing admission in a college here, Sowmya, who was staying at a relative’s house on Warners Road, used to contact Anushkar over the phone. On February 28, she asked Anushkar to visit her in India and he arrived in Tiruchy on February 9. After staying in a hotel here till April 2, the couple toured various places including Puducherry, Goa and Bangalore. After tracing Sowmya, the police urged them to return to Lanka. .
