New Delhi: A 13-year-old girl committed suicide after her father was allegedly humiliated by her school teachers and forcibly taken by police, over pending school fees in Ghaziabad's Sihani Gate area on Wednesday.
The girl has been identified as Priyanshi, a class 9th student. Three teachers have been detained and a case of abetment to suicide has been registered against them. According to the girl's family, a teacher had gone to her house in the morning. But there was no one there. The teacher went again in the afternoon and an argument ensued between her and the girl's father. The school's principal and three other teachers also joined them.
According to the father, a teacher had slapped him with a footwear. One of the teachers reportedly called the cops, citing 'misbehaviour' on the father's part. Distressed that her father had been taken to the police station, the girl hanged herself.
The girl's body has been sent for postmortem and further investigation in underway.
