The World No. 1 will face Nikolay Davydenko in the semi-finals.

New Delhi: World No. 1 Swiss Roger Federer produced a phenomenal display of hardcourt tennis to beat American Andy Roddick 7-6, 7-6, 6-2 in the quarter-finals of the US Open on Wednesday.

Roddick did not face a break point in the first two sets with his booming serve, but Federer saved his best for the tiebreaks.

The defeat was Roddick's 10th straight to the Swiss.

The World No. 1 will face Nikolay Davydenko in the semi-finals. Federer has a 9-0 career record against the Russian going into the semi-finals.

Nikolay Davydenko made short work of German Tommy Haas in the other quarter-final of the day.

Davydenko completely dominated the encounter, which made it hard to believe that Haas had come up with an array of crunching shots in his previous match against James Blake.

Haas made a whopping 33 unorced errors letting Davydenko run away with the match in straight sets.

What's your reaction?
