Four persons have been killed and 35 others injured after a fire triggered by a natural gas explosion broke out in southwest China. The fire broke out on Thursday in a shopping mall in Luzhou City in Sichuan Province, state-run Xinhua news agency reported on Friday.

The explosion occurred around 10:40 pm local time at the Mo'erma shopping mall and flames soon spread to the ground and second floors, sources with the municipal government said. Search and rescue operations are still underway.
