RAMANATHAPURAM: Rameswaram fishermen who are on strike for the last three days protesting the arrest of 23 of their colleagues by the Sri Lankan navy have decided to resume their operations from June 25 and withdraw their agitation.Following assurances from the officials to bring back the missing fishermen before July 1, the agitation was called off. Meanwhile, Naam Thamilar party, led by film director Seeman, announced that the party would stage a series of agitations with fishermen’s unions from Rameswaram for prevailing upon the Lankan government to release the 23 fishermen. According to a release, the party sought the Centre’s immediate intervention to secure the release.
