Flood woes continue in Indonesia
Fresh spate of rains have compounded the misery of some 2,00,000 displaced people in Indonesia.

Jakarta: In Indonesia fresh spate of rains on Thursday have compounded the misery of some 2,00,000 displaced people.

The floods were caused by two days of seasonal rains causing the rivers and canals to overflow.

Over 1,00,000 homes, shops and offices have been affected in one of the worst floods in Jakarta in recent memory.

Twenty six people have died so far and some 2,000,00 have been displaced.

Some of the filthy water receded on Wednesday due to cessation of rains enabling residents and emergency workers to begin a clean up operation.

But overnight fresh rain sent waters up to about one metre (3.3 feet) inundating the flood prone regions again.
