HYDERABAD: Task Force West Zone sleuths nabbed four drug peddlers on Wednesday at Good Luck hotel in Langer Houz and seized two kg charas, two motorcycles and mobile phones from them. This is the first time that they got the banned substance from a person in Kanpur, police said. The prime accused, 32-year-old Mohd Taj, is a class VII drop out from a city school and he later took up odd jobs like working at pan shops and as paper boy. Presently, he is working as a labourer in the Chengicherla slaughterhouse.While looking to earn easy money, he came in contact with a person from Kanpur in Uttar Pradesh, Saleem Bhai, who makes chappals and sells them in Hyderabad. The duo become good friends and Mohd Taj told him about his poor financial state. “Saleem promised to supply charas to Mohd Taj for Rs 15,000 per kg and asked him to find customers who can purchase it for Rs 50,000 per kg,” deputy commissioner of police (Task Force) Ch Ramchander said.Mohd Taj told about his plans to three friends, Mohd Farhan, a salesman in a cloth showroom and resident of Golconda, Mohd Anwar, a real estate broker from Golconda and Mohd Ashwaq, an A/C mechanic from Mehdipatnam. As per agreement, Saleem came to the city with two kg charas on October 28 in the AP Express and handed over the substance to Mohd Taj at the Alpha Hotel, Secunderabad for Rs 30,000. Taj kept one kg of the banned substance with him and the remaining with Anwar.Task Force sleuths nabbed Mohd Taj and Farhan when they were searching for customers at the Good Luck hotel and the two kg charas seized from them. The four accused and the seized substance was handed over to Langer Houz police for further action.
