New Delhi: The filmmakers have always been interested in youthful love stories. It's a long list of films such as 'Bobby', 'Love Story', 'Kaho Na Pyaar Hai', and 'Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na' that have been appreciated by the audiences due to their fresh appearances.
Debutant director Pawan Gill has said that the film is an ode to Yash Raj films. Gill has worked with Yash Raj Films and Aditya Chopra on various projects and thinks that 'Jo Hum Chahein' will reflect Yash Raj style of filmmaking.
The film has two absolutely new faces at the helm of the proceedings. Rohan Bhatia (Sunny Gill) is an ultra ambitious and confident young man who doesn't want to wait for the success. He has the courage to go to any length to make his desire possible. Rohan's dreams take him to Bombay Stock Exchange where his quest for success begins.
Rohan meets a headstrong girl Neha Kapoor (Simran Kaur Mundi) who doesn't believe in casual flings. Neha's aspiration to be a film actor has brought her to Mumbai.
They casually start dating each other before the girl falls in love with the high flying guy.
The film doesn't boast of a powerful backing of big production houses like Film Kraft or Yash Raj Films still the songs have managed to fetch attention.
Two songs of the film 'Peepni' and 'Aaj Bhi Party' are constantly featuring in all the countdowns. Composer Sachin Gupta has come up with some peppy tunes in 'Jo Hum Chahein'.
Some trade pundits have predicted a good show by the film at the box office due to the lead couple. Whatsoever of the film is revealed via promos suggests that Sunny Gill and Simran Mundi have the star quotient which can help the film in becoming a sleeper success.
The audiences have seen many other films with the same theme so the storyteller will have to come up with innovative ideas to keep them hooked to the screen.
