CHENNAI: Can bedtime stories, superheroes’ toys, and vacation before college admission culminate to inspire someone to write a book? For 23-year-old engineer Prithvin Rajendran, all these factors came together to give shape to his book, 'The Iron Tooth', which was released at St George’s Cathedral.Family members, relatives and friends came in large numbers to attend the book release and to congratulate the young writer on his first major achievement. The Iron Tooth is a fantasy novel with the theme of good prevailing over evil.“My book derives inspiration thanks to the He-Man toys bought by my father and bedtime stories told by my mother during my childhood,” said Prithvin. “I started writing in 2005, when I just 17, during the vacation before the college admission. I completed the book in three years. But editing the book and getting a publisher took time,” recollects Prithvin.Former Indian captain and  current chairman of the selection committee, Krishnamachari Srikkanth, released the first copy of the book. He wished god gives more creative powers to young Prithvin to come up with more such interesting novels.John Hall, Vice Consul, US Consulate, greeted the audience with a Vanakkam and received the first copy of the book. He was pleased to know the young writer in person. Other dignitaries expressed a wish that the book is made in a movie. For details, visit www.prithvinrajendran.com.
