A 24-year-old woman, who had attempted suicide a week ago, died on Wednesday while undergoing treatment in Osmania General Hospital.

 It is learnt that the victim took the extreme step after Chatrinaka police reportedly questioned her in connection with a theft case. The deceased, Priyanka stayed with her relatives at Chatrinaka after her parents died a few years ago.

 The Sivarampally police sub-inspector D Venkatesh said that the victim’s aunt Anuradha, a resident of Chatrinka, had lodged a theft case in Chatrinaka police station Priyanka as a suspect in the theft.

 Based on the complaint, police registered a theft case and reportedly questioned her. Vexed over police questioning, Priyanka went to her home and attempted suicide by setting herself ablaze on September 5. However, she was rescued by the locals.

 With 60 per cent burn injuries, she was shifted to Osmania General Hospital, where she died on Wednesday. According to sources, Priyanka’s aunt Anuradha reportedly had an extra marital affair, about which Priyanka knew. Fearing that she would tell about it to her uncle, Anuradha lodged a fake theft case and stating Priyanka as a suspect
