BHUBANESWAR: The burden of peer pressure off their back, thanks to the cumulative grade point average (CGPA) system, students came out with flying colours in the CBSE Class X Examination.The results for Bhubaneswar Zone of the Board were announced early on Saturday.Most of the schools recorded 100 per cent success rate, while their students notched up A1 grade. Girls outdid the boys in performance once again.DAV Public School, Chandrasekharpur, which recorded 100 per cent result saw 82 of its students securing A1 grade.A1 grade indicates a CGPA of 10 in all subjects. Of the 82, 47 were girls, while 35 are boys. The aggregate graded average of the school was 8.9 per cent.Of the 283 students, who appeared and cleared, 93 scored a CGPA of 9.8, 168 secured 9 and 281 scored a CGPA of 6 or more. In individual subjects, the score went up to 8.7 per cent.The DAV Public School, Pokhariput, recorded an average CGPA of 9.1. Of the 198 students, who had appeared, 63 secured A1 grade.In Mother’s Public School, 91 students cleared the examination while 80 received first division. At least 13 students scored A grade while four bagged A1 grade.The SAI International School, with its first batch passing out, recorded 100 per cent results with distinction. Thirty per cent of the students notched A1 grade.Similarly, St Xavier’s High School, Kedargouri, recorded a 100 per cent result with all students securing first division.Of the 107 students, who appeared in the test, 44 got a CGPA of 10.This year, the grading system brought in a new change to the scoring, most schools agreed. Besides, the inclusion of co-scholastic activities under the CGPA system also saw students growing as persons.“Their behaviour with teachers and in the peer groups as well as sports activities were graded this year. Such a system ensures that a student is monitored all through the year. Since he or she too knows it, that prompts the student to grow holistically,” said a teacher.Class X students of Delhi Public School Kalinga also achieved excellent results.As many as 23 students secured CGPA of 10 while more than half scored a CGPA of 9 or above.CUTTACK: DAV Public School, Bidanasi, achieved 100 per cent result. Of the 443 students, who appeared in the examination, 129 secured CGPA of 10.
