Between 1984 and 2005, UNESCO declared seven of Antoni Gaudi's works World Heritage Sites.
New Delhi: Celebrating the 161st birthday of the Spanish architect Antoni Gaudi, Google has come up with a doodle, which shows his significant works. Born on June 25, 1852, Antoni Gaudi came up with new techniques in the treatment of materials, such as trencadis, made of waste ceramic pieces.
His work enjoys widespread international appeal, and in a bid to give a tribute to Gaudi, a lot of studies are devoted to understanding his architecture. The still-uncompleted Sagrada Família is said to be his masterpiece and it is one of the most visited monuments in Spain.
Between 1984 and 2005, UNESCO declared seven of his works World Heritage Sites. Gaudi died on June 10, 1926. He was 73.
