Gurgaon victim's family threatens retaliation
Victim's grandfather says the family will seek revenge and won't let the accused get away.

New Delhi: The tragic shooting case at the Gurgaon school is turning murky. Two days after the incident, the father of one of the accused boys came out of hiding and expressed grief over the teenager’s death but claimed innocence saying he had no any inkling about what was going on.

“I and my family are very sad about the incident. After all, a child is a child and the loss is irreparable. We are not in touch with him. Police have our telephone numbers. They know we haven’t met him,” he said.

He also said the family of the accused was in the dark about the incident till late in the evening. “We got to know of it at 4 pm when our son did not return home. I went to home where neighbours they told me about the incident. When we went to school we got to know he was in the police station,” he said.

The two accused boys are now in a juvenile home in Faridabad, 30 km from Capital Delhi, and have not been allowed to meet their family members yet.

But the victim's family is crying revenge and has threatened dire consequences if justice isn’t done. Sending out an ominous warning the victim’s grandfather said the families of accused “will not be allowed to stay happy.”

“The authorities are being bribed and the accused is sitting in jail with all comforts. And we are the ones suffering. It was out child who got killed. He was our only son. If we don’t get justice, we won't let them stay happy, I assure you,” he said.

The victim’s father said he suspected there was more to the story than met the eye. “Kids are being used as pawns. Someone else is behind this. They (the accused) were shifted overnight to the remand home and we were not even informed. Now parents are not to be found. How is that possible? Would the relatives not know where the parents are?” he asked.
