The Southwest monsoon, that has been active over West Bengal and Orissa, caused heavy rainfall at most places in Telangana and moderate rainfall at a few places over Coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema.
On Saturday, 3 cm rain flooded many colonies in Hyderabad and main roads were blocked.
MET officials said isolated rain, between 2cm and 4cm, occured over Coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema.
During the next 48 hours, heavy rains may occur over Coastal Andhra.
Moderate rains are expected in Rayalaseema and Telangana.
“The sky would be partly cloudy and rain or thundershowers may occur in some of the coastal regions.
Maximum temperature would be around 32 degree celsius in the state,” an MET official said.
The expected average rainfall in August was 165.2 mm, but only 63.7 mm was recorded. This negative rainfall has got the farmers and officials worried.
Both are concerned about the fate of farming in the districts if the situation continues.
