New Delhi: An Indian Administrative Officer (IAS), Shiv Anant Tayal , serving under the Chhattisgarh government, raised an FB storm when in a post on the popular social website he wanted to know about the achievements of Deen Dayal Upadhyaya, a founder member of the Bharatiya Jana Sangh.

In a post on his FB timeline, he mentioned “Can’t find a single work of his (Pt Upadhyaya) authorship or scholarship to gauge his ideological stance and that there is not a single election where he won by a popular vote.” He also wanted to know what has been Deen Dayal Upadhyay's achievement.

Even before he could be enlightened about the achievements of Deen Dayal Upadhyaya, he was transferred with immediate effect.

In a conciliatory gesture, the officer not only deleted the controversial post but also expressed regret. He attributed his earlier post to a ‘casual follow-up to some reading and browsing’.

“I made a post in the morning raising some spontaneous question on Pt Deendayal Upadhyay. The act was in a casual follow up of some reading and browsing. It was never an intention to raise questions on credibility of stalwarts or to offend anyone. Nevertheless, if that happened, I am deeply apologetic and express regret about that. Thank you,” wrote the apologetic officer on his FB timeline.
