Icy winds and dense fog on Thursday returned to Rajasthan, affecting normal life, road and train traffic, with Mount Abu recording the lowest and near- freezing temperature of 1.0 degree C.
With the revival in cold wave conditions, the mercury plummeted sharply by one to five degree C at most places in the state, a MeT department official said.
Residents of Jaipur, who had some relief in last two days, woke up to dense fog, which was cleared by mid-noon, and mercury dipping at 5.4 degree C last night.
Pilani recorded a minimum of 2.3 degree C, followed by Churu 2.9, Sriganganagar 4.6, Ajmer and Udaipur both 7.5 and Chittorgarh and Kota both 8.8 degree C, the official said.
Mount Abu recorded 1.0 degree C last night.
Due to dense fog, the NWR has rescheduled three trains and about a dozen were running late in the state by 25 minutes to 2 hours and 30 minutes, its PRO said.
Mercury will further fall in next 24 hours in the state, a forecast said.
